Announcements

2.1.12

Happy February!  Although some of you are wishing for more wintry weather, I have to admit that this is making our rehearsal schedule so much easier to manage without having the snowstorms interrupting our time together on Monday nights! Since we have not had snow issues, we will not need the extra rehearsal sceduled for Sat., Feb. 4.

Thank-you to all who came to the extra rehearsal last Sunday.  We got a lot done in both groups.  Please remember that attendance is taken at these extra rehearsals and if you have a conflict you need to contact us through the ccofnwo@yahoo.com email or by calling the choir cell phone.

Attendance this Monday is absolutely mandatory for the concert on Sunday.  Please be patient with us as we put our finishing touches on the concert.  Jubilate may go a few minutes past 6:30 and the Bel Canto choir will definately be there until 8:00.

All music must be memorized by Monday.   Children will not need their folders.

Congratulations to Emily Brandeberry for being chosen as the soloist in "Never Far From Home"  Once again, all who auditioned sounded great.  You all make decision-making difficult!

CONCERT DAY ATTIRE: Please doublecheck your concert outfits and have any alterations completed by next week! Jubilate and Bel Canto girls, please wear skin-tone nylons/tights with your dress, necklace, and black flats or low heels. All boys, please wear dark socks and black dress shoes w/your outfit. Be sure your slacks are hemmed!! (Jubilate boys will not need their cummerbund.) A loose-fitting sweatjacket or button-down shirt is fine for keeping warm/clean offstage.  scroll down for more concert day information.

VOLUNTEERING: Your last few chances to help at rehearsals/concerts are here! If you'd like to spend a Monday evening or a performance date helping behind the scenes, contact Lisa M. Openings begin March 5. Many thanks to Sharol Dapkus, Nancy Champion and Denise Lazar for being our January assistants!

We hope you are all staying warm as winter finally decides it is settling in! We are hoping and praying that weather does not affect our rehearsals, but if roads are questionable, a decision will be made by 3:00 on a Monday to cancel rehearsal.  It will then be posted on our ccofnwo.org website and will be the outgoing message of the choir phone, (419.377.7710).

On Feb 12, children will need to be at the church at 2:00. They should come dressed in their concert clothes. We will spend this time before our concert getting ready for the performance and rehearsing with the ONU Steel Drum Band.  Doors will open at 3:30 for the audience and the concert will begin at 4:00.  We are expecting a large crowd so come early to get the best seats!  Remember, this is a free concert, but there will be a free-will offering taken at intermission.

In the next couple of months the board of directors will be recruiting new board members. If you would like to be considered or have any questions about it, please let us know. The board is a really enjoyable group of people who help in the planning and development of the children's choir. We meet approx 4 times/year, usually on a Tuesday evening.

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!

Lisa Alleman - Artistic and Executive Director
Hilary Heisman - Assistant Director
Lisa Morrison - Choir Manager
